Its been 5 years since I last blogged, this being sparked by something I saw today. 20 years of memories being destroyed. The hawker centre i grew up with is being torn down for the so called "HUP"(hawker centre upgrading) programme a.k.a Hike Up Prices programme.

the cranes move in for the kill
new pillars, old signboards, some as old as 20+ years

only 3 days ago, this place was filled with hungry people
ruins.

used to look much more imposing, until they added the trees
end of the road?

now to think. during the 1 year of upgrading, where will all the hawkers get their incomes from? I took a walk through to find the weathered ex-stallowners with uncertain faces, many saying their last goodbyes to the place. couldnt help but start a blog just to post these as memories for the people who lived, worked, ate, grew up here.
kinda weird to have such a sad first post, but just feel inspired to do so. pictures [blurry] taken with the crap integrated into the motorola Q9h
